Others perceive PR...
...in a way that is so different from what we really do. Everyone thinks the job is full of glitz, glamour, and lies. How does that even go along with each other? For one PR people in my opinion have one of the most difficult jobs out there. Our job is to make everyone else happy. We must make deadlines, keep promises we make, try to keep a positive image, and even when all goes downhill we still have to make people know the good. We work long hard hours just to keep our clients happy, and most of the time we're thrown behind the scenes. Only time our name is out there is if something terrible happens, and who wants that? Although others may have a bad vibe about PR professionals, I think our careers are very rewarding. The fact that we can help others with all that they need, and keep the ball running makes us strong individuals. What are your opinions on PR professionals?

PR is not glitz and glam, totally agree with you! When you work hard and put in a lot of hours - ONLY then will you MAYBE see some perks. And if you do, count your blessings because it's rare. If you want your name in the papers go to acting classes- get out of PR!
ReplyDeletePR is definitely not all about glitz and glam unless your names Kim Kardashian. The one thing I can say however is that it's hard work, but we get to see our work pay off in the end, or at least we hope we do. The better we are at our job, the more successful we become. I like to think that we hold the pieces together when things begin to fall apart. We're the solution to our client's problem (or hope to be). We may not get our names put in a paper or consistently get recognition, but I guarantee if we do our jobs right, our names will get passed along, and that's better than nothing.
